The 28th state in the USA, admitted on December 29, 1845.

On December 29th of 1845, Texas became officially a state of U.S. Texas is known as one of the largest and most important state of the nation. The state of Texas obtained its name by a word used by Indians meaning "friends" and can also be recognize as the Lone Start State. The flag was selected when the state became the 28th state. The Texas flag is made up of three colors, blue which means loyalty, the white represents strength, and the red is for bravery. Texas economy depends on mineral resources since Texas is one of the major producers of oil, natural gas, and natural liquids And in addition agriculture is very important for the state, which produce cattle, cotton, and dairy products. The size of the state of Texas is 262,015 sq. mi.; because of its largely size it has several different types of climates. Texas is famous because it has three of the top ten most populous cities in the United States and they are Houston, Dallas, and, San Antonio. And also Texas is a famous place because of the Texas revolution that took place in the Alamo located in San Antonio. On March 6, 1836 the army of Santa Anna attacked Texas at the Alamo. Today the Alamo is one of the state's main tourist attractions.
