The 3rd state in the USA, admitted on December 18, 1787.

New Jersey, the garden state is the the most densely populated state in the nation. New Jersey was originally home to many native American tribes including the Lenape and Cherokee. The original settlers were Dutch and Swedish however, the British took soon control of the region in 1664. New Jersey became one of the thirteen original colonies to enter the revolutionary war and became the 3rd State on December 18, 1787. Bordered buy the Delaware river on the west and the Hudson river on the North, New Jersey's location is it's primary asset making it one of the most important transportation hubs in the world linking Philadelphia to New York City. Nearly one half of the state is covered by dense pine woodlands and also boasts over 130 miles of shoreline. Home to Atlantic City and Historic Cape May makes it one of the most popular vacation destination in the mid atlantic.
