The 12th state in the USA, admitted on November 21, 1789.

In November 21, 1789 North Carolina became a state of U.S. North Carolina was one of the thirteen colonies. The name of North Carolina was given in honor of Charles I of England. The state is also know as Tar Heel State and is located to the northeast of United States. The state borders with the states of South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. North Carolina has many attractions for example, the Great Smoky Mountains, Cape Lookout National Seashores in which many visitors spend a big amount of money every year and that's why tourism is very important to the state. In North Carolina tobacco is a very important product also the textile and furniture industries are main key for the economy of the state. A fun fact about North Carolina is that Pepsi was created and first served in New Bern in 1898. North Carolina has amazing places to visit year round.
